
The Editorial Board of Bonafide: Journal of Theology and Christian Religious Education invites academics, researchers, practitioners, and students to submit their best scholarly manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts must meet the following criteria:
Originality: The manuscript must be the author's original work, free from plagiarism, and has not been published in any other media.
Publication Status: The manuscript must not be under consideration for publication by another journal or publication outlet.
Relevance: The topic of the manuscript must align with the Aims and Scope of the Bonafide journal.
Formatting: The manuscript must be written according to the format and style guidelines set forth in these instructions.
All correspondence and manuscript submissions are conducted online through our Open Journal Systems (OJS) portal.
Bonafide accepts two main types of manuscripts:
Research Articles: Manuscripts based on empirical research (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods). The structure must include an introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion.
Conceptual Articles (Literature Reviews): Manuscripts that present ideas, theories, or critical analyses of existing literature to build a new, comprehensive argument.
The length for both article types should be between 5,000 and 7,000 words, inclusive of the abstract, tables, figures, and references.
Registration and Submission: Authors must register and submit their manuscripts through the Bonafide OJS portal at [insert journal OJS link here].
File Format: The manuscript must be uploaded in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
Anonymous Manuscript (for Blind Review): To support the double-blind review process, the main manuscript file uploaded MUST NOT contain any author-identifying information (name, affiliation, email). Author identities should only be entered into the metadata form on the OJS platform. Please ensure author details are also removed from the Word file's properties.
Paper Size: A4
Margins: 3 cm (top and left), 2.5 cm (bottom and right)
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Spacing: 1.5 line spacing
Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and correct Bahasa Indonesia.
The manuscript must be organized in the following order:
Title:
Specific, clear, and informative (maximum 14 words).
Abstract:
Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Length should be between 150-250 words.
A concise summary covering: the research purpose, methods, main findings, and conclusion.
Should not contain any citations.
Keywords:
3-5 keywords or phrases that best represent the manuscript's content.
Provided in English.
Introduction:
Contains the research background, a brief and relevant literature review, the research gap, and the article's objectives.
Research Method: (For Research Articles only)
Provides a detailed explanation of the research design, subjects/participants, data collection techniques, and data analysis procedures.
Results and Discussion:
Results: Presents the research findings clearly and systematically. May be supported by tables or figures.
Discussion: Analyzes and interprets the results, connecting them to existing theories and previous research, and elaborates on the implications of the findings.
Conclusion:
Summarizes the main findings and answers the research objectives.
States the limitations of the study and provides suggestions for future research.
Acknowledgments: (Optional)
Addressed to parties who have assisted in the research, such as funding institutions.
References:
Must only list the sources cited within the manuscript.
Using a reference manager application such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is highly recommended.
Bonafide uses the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition citation style.
In-text Citations:
Use the author's last name and year format.
Example: (Siregar, 2024) or Siregar (2024) stated that...
For direct quotations, include the page number: (Siregar, 2024, p. 52).

Tables and figures must be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1).
The title of a table is placed above the table; the title of a figure is placed below the figure.
Tables and figures should be placed within the text where they are discussed, not at the end of the manuscript.
If a figure or table is from another source, its source must be cited.
Every submitted manuscript will undergo a review process by the editorial board and peer reviewers. Authors can monitor the status of their manuscript through their OJS account. The final decision (accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected) will be communicated to the author via email.
