
Bonafide: Journal of Theology and Christian Religious Education aims to be a leading scholarly platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to publish high-quality original research and conceptual ideas. Our mission is:
To Advance Thought: To foster the development of theological and pedagogical thinking that is critical, constructive, and relevant to the contemporary context of the church and society.
To Serve as a Forum for Dialogue: To provide a venue for in-depth scholarly dialogue between various perspectives within the study of theology and Christian religious education.
To Bridge Theory and Practice: To publish articles that are not only theoretically robust but also have significant practical implications for ministry in churches, educational institutions, and families.
To Disseminate Knowledge: To widely disseminate the latest knowledge and findings in the fields of theology and Christian religious education to academic and ecclesial communities.
Bonafide invites manuscripts in the form of research articles (empirical studies) and conceptual/review articles (literature or theoretical reviews). The journal's primary focus includes, but is not limited to, the following fields:
1. Field of Theology:
Biblical Theology: Old and New Testament Studies, Biblical Hermeneutics.
Systematic Theology: Christian Doctrines (God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, Humanity, Sin, Salvation, the Church, Eschatology).
Practical Theology: Homiletics (preaching), Liturgics (worship), Pastoral Counseling, and Christian Spirituality.
Historical Theology: Church History, History of Theology, and the development of Christian thought.
Contextual Theology: Theological analysis relevant to cultural, social, and political contexts, particularly in Indonesia.
Missiology: The theology and practice of Christian mission in the contemporary era.
Christian Ethics and Apologetics: Moral issues from a Christian perspective and the defense of the faith.
2. Field of Christian Religious Education (CRE):
Philosophy and Theology of Christian Education: The theoretical and theological foundations for the practice of Christian education.
Curriculum and Learning Models in CRE: The development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula and teaching methods in the CRE context.
CRE in the Family, Church, and School: Studies on the practice of faith education in various environments.
Psychology of Faith Development: Psychological aspects of spiritual growth and Christian character formation.
Christian Educational Leadership: Management and leadership within Christian educational institutions.
Technology and Media in CRE: The use of digital technology to support the teaching and learning of Christian religion.
Contemporary Issues: Analysis and educational responses to the challenges of the modern era.
We particularly welcome interdisciplinary manuscripts that integrate theology or Christian religious education with other fields such as sociology, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and media studies.
