Employing a qualitative, library-based research approach, the study integrates Greek linguistic analysis of the terms apōtheisthe, strapheisometha, and ethnē; a historical-narrative investigation into the social context of the Jewish diaspora and the dynamics of the early church; and a dispensational theological interpretation that sharply distinguishes the program of Israel from that of the Church, the Body of Christ. A review of contemporary scholarship demonstrates that many studies emphasize historical continuity between Israel and the church or focus on the narrative and missional dimensions of Paul’s ministry, yet generally fail to recognize the explicit administrative shift embedded in this text. The study concludes that Israel’s rejection and Paul’s declaration, “we turn to the Gentiles,” is not merely a missional response but an inaugural announcement that the divine mandate of the Gospel understood as God’s program has been transferred from Israel to Paul, and through Paul to the nations, as the enactment of the previously hidden oikonomia of grace. Practically, this implies that contemporary evangelism must be rooted in the Gospel of Grace entrusted to Paul, free from kingdom frameworks and Mosaic regulations, and carried out with the awareness that the church now operates within a new divine administration that no longer centers on Israel but on the Church, the Body of Christ, as a new spiritual creation.
Pratiwi Eunike, Djonny Pabisa, Dilham Dilham Copyright (c) https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/473 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 PERKARA, PUTUSAN, DAN PEMULIHAN https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/472
This article maintains that John 8:3–11 can be read not only as a story of mercy, but also as an adjudicative account in which Jesus takes a judicial role. Although many interpretations rightly give attention to Jesus' compassion and to his offer of life for the woman brought before him, this study argues that the offer comes through judgment rather than apart from it. The article, using qualitative library research and a narrative-juridical approach, examines the pericope as a case set before an authoritative figure and followed through accusation, norm, response, and final disposition. Jesus, in this reading, receives the case, examines it by exposing the accusers' moral and procedural failure, delivers a verdict that redirects the whole matter, and resolves it through a final statement that gives status and makes moral transformation possible. John 8:3–11, therefore, is better seen not as the lack of judgment, but as restorative judgment in which mercy becomes the manner of a just decision.
Rully Simorangkir, Yohanes Parapat, Stenly Reinal Paparang Copyright (c) 2026 Rully Simorangkir, Yohanes Parapat, Stenly Reinal Paparang https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/472 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 13:15:25 +0700 ANALISIS EKSEGESIS LUKAS 16:1-9 DAN IMPLIKASI SEMANTIK MANAJEMEN RISIKO BAGI MUTU LAYANAN PENDIDIKAN DI STT ARASTAMAR WAMENA https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/498
This study aims to discover the semantic content of words and language in the Gospel of Luke 16:1-9 through analytical steps. The government wants schools to help students become mature in their spirit, morals and minds. Christian Religious Education plays a role in this by helping students develop spiritually in a school setting. This study looks at how well morning devotion activities help students develop character. We live in a time where many people are losing values, so this is very important. The study found that when students take part in morning devotion activities, they do not just learn about values they start to live with. This happens when these activities are done in a sustainable way. The study also found that the way morning devotion is done is very important. It needs to be managed in a way that makes sense for each school. It needs to be structured and reflective. When homeroom teachers are heavily involved and mentor their students closely it makes a difference. They act as guides for their students. So, morning devotion is not something that students have to do every day. It is a time for them to learn and live out Christian values in their daily lives. Christian Religious Education and morning devotion activities are important, for internalizing Christian values into students' daily behaviours.
Ester Rahayu, Timotius Sukarna Copyright (c) 2026 Ester Rahayu, Timotius Sukarna https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/481 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 13:38:47 +0700 KAJIAN TENTANG FIDES ALIENA DAN FIDES PROPRIA https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/491
Abstract. This study is motivated by the theological debate concerning infant baptism within the Protestant tradition, particularly between the concept of fides aliena in the Reformed tradition and fides propria in the Anabaptist tradition. The primary issue addressed in this research lies in the differing foundations of faith confession underlying the practice of infant baptism and their implications for the church's understanding of faith, salvation, and the sacraments. This study aims to analyze the theological foundations of these two perspectives, explain the hermeneutical differences that shape them, and formulate their theological and pastoral implications for the contemporary church. The study employs a qualitative research method with a normative-critical theological approach and comparative-conceptual analysis. Data were collected through literature studies of the Bible, confessional documents, works of Reformed and Anabaptist theologians, as well as sources in historical and systematic theology. The findings reveal that the Reformed tradition views infant baptism as a communal sign of God's covenantal grace, whereas the Anabaptist tradition emphasizes baptism based on a conscious personal confession of faith. These differences arise from distinct approaches to hermeneutics, ecclesiology, and covenant theology. This study concludes that the church needs to understand baptism from historical, biblical, and pastoral perspectives in order to foster a dialogical attitude and a more responsible formation of faith.

Keywords: Fides Aliena, Fides Propria, Infant Baptism, Reformed Theology, Anabaptism, Sacrament of Baptism
Oktofianus Taebenu, Mozes Lawalata Copyright (c) 2026 Oktofianus Taebenu, Mozes Lawalata https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/491 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 14:08:59 +0700 IMPLEMENTASI FORMASIO LITURGI DALAM KELUARGA SETURUT DESIDERIO DESIDERAVI DAN DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP PEMBENTUKAN IMAN ANAK https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/490
Pembinaan iman anak dalam keluarga Katolik menghadapi berbagai tantangan akibat kesibukan orang tua, lemahnya praktik doa bersama, dan berkurangnya pengalaman iman dalam kehidupan keluarga sehari-hari. The research focuses on the meaning of Logos in the context of the Greek language, its understanding in Christology, and its relevance to the lives of believers. Many Christians understand “Logos” merely as “the Word” without realizing its theological significance as the divine revelation of Christ. The method used is qualitative research employing a biblical exegetical approach and lexical study of the New Testament Greek text through literature review.

The research findings indicate that the Logos in John 1:1 does not merely mean “the Word,” but points to Jesus Christ as the eternal divine Person, co-existent with God and is God. This understanding affirms that the Christian faith is centered on Christ as the living Word, the source of truth and salvation, thereby encouraging believers to live in accordance with His truth.

Steyven Tirajoh, Aprianus Moimau Copyright (c) 2026 Steyven Tirajoh, Aprianus Moimau https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/492 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 15:14:30 +0700 LEGITIMASI PNEUMATOLOGIS DAN POLITIK KEKUASAAN DALAM KEPEMIMPINAN GEREJA NEO-PENTAKOSTA DI INDONESIA https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/505
Abstract. This article examines the formation of charismatic authority in Indonesian Neo-Pentecostal churches through a dialogue between Max Weber's theory of charismatic domination and Pentecostal pneumatology. Using a conceptual-analytical method, the article examines Weberian literature, Pentecostal theology, Indonesian Neo-Pentecostal studies, and relevant legal and ethnographic ecclesiastical cases. Its central argument is that charismatic authority in Neo-Pentecost is not only theological but also political, as claims of anointing, prophecy, spiritual gifts, and divine calling can serve to sacralize the leader's personal authority. The analysis identifies four key dynamics: the pneumatological legitimation of personal authority, the routinization of charisma into institutional control, the politics of succession and boundary maintenance, and the tension between the ecclesiology of the Holy Spirit and personal domination. The article's theoretical contribution lies in formulating the concept of the pneumatological legitimacy of power as an analytical tool for assessing the relationship between spirituality, leadership, and ecclesiastical accountability. This article proposes a critical pneumatological framework that distinguishes Spirit-led authority from coercive power structures that use charismatic language to close off communal spaces for correction.

Stefanus De Fatima Nahac, Yohanes Parapat Copyright (c) 2026 Stefanus De Fatima Nahac, Yohanes Parapat https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/505 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 15:20:48 +0700 ROH KUDUS SEBAGAI “METERAI-JAMINAN” DALAM EFESUS 1:13-14 SERTA IMPLIKASINYA BAGI SOTERIOLOGI KRISTEN https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/488
The Holy Spirit is a divine person who plays a vital role in all biblical evidence. Since creation, the Spirit of God has been present and actively working in shaping and sustaining creation according to God's will (Genesis 1:2). In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God empowered judges, prophets, and the chosen people to carry out their duties in the plan of salvation, while also providing the basis for the eschatological hope of the renewal of humanity through the outpouring of the Spirit. In the New Testament, the work of the Holy Spirit is increasingly evident through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, from his birth and baptism to his ministry as the fulfillment of messianic prophecy. In Pauline theology, the Holy Spirit is the core experience of salvation because through the Spirit believers are renewed, freed from the power of sin, and live in fellowship with God.

Ephesians 1:13–14 is a key text that affirms that believers are "sealed" with the Holy Spirit, and that the Spirit serves as a "guarantee" of their inheritance of salvation. The term "seal" refers to divine ownership, approval, and protection, while "guarantee" implies an initial payment that guarantees the fulfillment of salvation in the future. However, in contemporary church practice, the meaning of the Holy Spirit as a seal and guarantee is often understood in a limited way, only as a sign of the believer's identity, so that the eschatological dimension and the certainty of salvation are less considered. Therefore, this study examines Ephesians 1:13–14 through a qualitative method with a grammatical-historical exegetical approach within a canonical hermeneutic framework. The results show that the Holy Spirit is a sign of God's ownership of His people as well as a definite guarantee of the perfect fulfillment of salvation in the future.

Keywords: Holy Spirit, Seal, Guarantee, Ephesians 1:13–14, Certainty of Salvation, Pneumatology, Soteriology.
Bruno Ikun Anen, Mozes Lawalata Copyright (c) 2026 Bruno Ikun Anen, Mozes Lawalata https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/488 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 PEMBINAAN WARGA GEREJA SEBAGAI SARANA PENGUATAN NILAI MORAL DAN ETIKA KRISTEN DI ERA DIGITAL https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/474
Moral decline and ethical crises in the digital era have become serious challenges for society, including church communities. The rapid advancement of digital technology has brought significant changes to lifestyles, patterns of interaction, and the formation of human character. On the one hand, technology offers various conveniences; on the other hand, it also gives rise to ethical issues such as individualism, hedonism, misuse of social media, cyberbullying, digital pornography, the spread of hoaxes, and the erosion of moral integrity. These conditions highlight the importance of the church’s role in providing church member development that is capable of strengthening Christian moral and ethical values in a contextual and sustainable manner. This study aims to analyze the role of church member development as a means of strengthening Christian morality and ethics amid the challenges of the digital era. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with literature study as the primary data collection technique. Data were obtained through the examination of scientific journals and various relevant literature concerning church development, Christian ethics, and moral challenges in the digital era. The findings indicate that church member development plays a strategic role in fostering spiritual maturity, strengthening moral integrity, and building Christian character based on biblical values. Effective development is carried out through discipleship, mentoring, small groups, Christian ethics education, Bible-based digital literacy, and the exemplary leadership of church leaders. This condition calls for a missional apologetics that is not only capable of defending faith argumentatively, but also demonstrates spiritual integrity and prophetic courage amid intellectual pressures. This study aims to examine the relevance of 1 Kings 17:1–6 as a theological foundation for constructing missional apologetics in the secular academic era. The research employs a qualitative method through a library research approach and biblical analysis. The findings reveal that the figure of Elijah in 1 Kings 17:1–6 embodies three principal dimensions of missional apologetics: the courage to proclaim God’s truth within a culture that rejects Him, total dependence upon God’s providence, and spiritual consistency in fulfilling the missional calling. In the context of modern academia, these principles serve as an essential foundation for believers to present an intellectual, relevant, and transformative witness of faith. Therefore, missional apologetics should not merely be understood as a theoretical defense of faith, but also as an expression of prophetic spirituality capable of responding to the challenges of secularization within the academic world.
Elia Boen Eni Copyright (c) 2026 Elia Boen Eni https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.sttissiau.ac.id/index.php/jbs/article/view/480 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 15:41:28 +0700 Book Review: DOKTRIN KRISTEN: Perspektif Pentakosta, French L.
